General Electric contracted BGT to create a landing page for their new french door refrigerator. The landing page uses parallax effects and multiple animations to showcase product features.

Note: the production version is no longer available on GE website, the link above is a beta version with an animation of the ice tray opening that didn’t make it to production. To create the animation, multiple renderings of the fridge are loaded and swapped, creating a movie-like animation. It takes a while to load, please be patient and wait for the animation to load before scrolling.

My contribution:

  • Front-end modular architecture that allowed 3 developers work on a single-page website simultaneously
  • Integrate stellar.js parallax plugin and modify the plugin to support “pin” functionality
  • Opening ice tray animation and animation of the fridge on scroll
  • “Convenience” section UI and animations with people sliding in from the side
  • “Features” section with the fridge doors opening and closing, using the same “movie” technique as the first animation
